The Sac City Community Center, (SCCC), home of Iowa’s oldest continually operating indoor school pool, will celebrate the pool’s 100th birthday in 2024. With an eye to the future while continuing to honor the past, the SCCC Board applied for and received a grant to pay for architectural services to examine the structure of the building and plan for its future needs. The grant paid for a site visit and report entitled “Field Services Report for the Sac Community Center” issued by Sequel Architect in August. The report includes plans necessary to ensure the building can continue to support the needs of the community for decades to come while preserving its historical significance.
